Three Daily Promises

Erin rae business coach

Motivation can be tough, especially for day-to-day things. Not the big business goals, but the basic tasks - getting out of bed, taking care of small responsibilities, and keeping things moving.

Here’s one simple piece of advice that has helped me a lot:

make three promises to yourself every day.

These don’t need to be big or complicated. The smaller and more realistic, the better. Examples: read for 30 minutes, organize one drawer, compliment someone you interact with. Straightforward tasks you can actually do.

At the end of the day, you’ll feel better knowing you kept those promises. Instead of going to bed frustrated about not doing “enough,” you can point to three specific things you said you’d do - and you did them.

Over time, you can make the promises bigger, keep them small, or mix them up. The size doesn’t matter (that's what she said). What matters is that you follow through (that's also what she said) omg - I can't help myself lol

But for real -

We all work hard to be dependable for others - family, friends, coworkers, clients. But it’s just as important, if not more, to be dependable for yourself. When you keep your word to yourself, you build trust and consistency that carries over into everything else.

So before you go to bed tonight, pick your three promises for tomorrow. Then get up and keep them. Do it.
